"this is my second production that i have worked as the scenic designer for.  hayavadana, by girsh karnad is an Indian play that is based on ancient Sanskrit stories. this is the show that was picked to be performed for ONU’s 13th international play festival: India. the play was made possible thanks to the Fulbright scholars, gaurav and irfana, that came over from India to our university this semester to teach and direct. the challenges that i faced during this production were researching a culture that i was not previously educated on, and working in a truncated time frame to create a design that was inspired by traditional Indian culture and the Hindu religion. gaurav and irfana were especially helpful because they were able to teach me about things that you could not learn from researching articles about Sanskrit theatre and Indian culture on the internet."
